1992–93 Nationale 1 season

The 1992/93 season was the 71st season of the National 1, the highest French Hockey League. Masters were for the third time in club history the Dragons de Rouen. The Diables Rouges de Valenciennes rose from the second division.

Mode

In the first season the league phase was divided into two groups (North / South ), each with eight participants. The two winners of the two groups from the first season qualified for the group phase N1A the second season phase, the participants then playing off the championship in the playoffs. The teams ranked 3-5 the first season qualified for the group phase N1B the second season phase, then the fief participants in playoff for fifth place. The three last player of both groups from the first season had to phase in the second season phase N1C compete for the league in the group where the last placed the group N1C relegation to the second division. For a win, each team received two points for a defeat.
