1998 WNBA draft

The second WNBA Draft took place on 28 April 1998 at the NBA Entertainment Studios in Secaucus, New Jersey, United States instead. The order of selection was determined based on the final table of the previous year.

But before the second WNBA Draft was conducted, an initial player allocation took place on 27 January 1998, where the two expansion teams Detroit Shock and Washington Mystics player two were assigned at random to each. On 18 February 1998 finally found the expansion draft for the Shock and Mystics instead.
