2006 COSAFA Cup
The tenth edition of the COSAFA Cup, officially COSAFA Castle Cup 2006 took place from 19 August to 21 October, 2006 Lusaka and Harare instead. Four teams from the Southern African region played for the title of South Africa champion. Zambia won his third title. The preliminary round was held from 26 April to 23 July in Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia instead.

Game Mode
For the final round of the tournament, the defending champion Zimbabwe qualified automatically. The remaining 12 participants played in three groups, the winner is qualified for the finals in Zimbabwe. The group ranks were decided by discharging a semi-final, the winners of which a group finals and their losers a 3rd place match played off.

The matches of Group A were held on 26th and 30th April, 2006 in Maseru Lesotho place. Lesotho hosts lost the final against favorites Angola.

The matches of Group B took place on 20 and 21 May, 2006 in Gaborone in Botswana instead. Botswana hosts won the final against group favorites South Africa.

The Group C matches were held on 22 and 23 July, 2006 in Windhoek in Namibia instead. Zambia won against Malawi and the Seychelles in the group.
