2005 COSAFA Cup
The ninth edition of the COSAFA Cup, officially COSAFA Castle Cup in 2005, was held in South Africa on 13 August and 14 August 2005. Four teams from the Southern African region played for the title of South Africa champion. Zimbabwe won his third title. The preliminary round was held until June 12, Mauritius, Namibia and Zambia on 26 February. For the first time took part in the Seychelles.

Game Mode
For the final round of the tournament, the defending champions Angola qualified automatically. The remaining 12 participants played in three groups, the winner is qualified for the finals in Botswana. The group ranks were decided by discharging a semi-final, with the winners playing off one group finale.

The matches of Group A were held in Curepipe in Mauritius on 26 and 27 February 2005. South Africa was able to prevail against the island states of Seychelles, Mauritius and Madagascar.

The matches of Group B were held on 16 and 17 April, 2005 in Windhoek in Namibia instead. Group winner was before Zimbabwe Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique.
