2000 COSAFA Cup
The fourth edition of COSAFA Cups, officially COSAFA Castle Cup 2000, was held to 27 August 2000 of May 14th. Eight teams from the South African space played for the title of South Africa champion. Zimbabwe won the title for the first time. The preliminary round was held until April 29 of 5 March. Mauritius participated for the first time in the tournament.
Game Mode
For the final round of the tournament, the top three winners of the last tournament qualified automatically. The remaining eight participants were playing in the first round, the four winners and a loser, which qualified for the finals. The tournament was continued in all-in - system.
1 round / qualification
The first round took place until 29 April 2000 of March 5. Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and South Africa failed to qualify for the finals. Lesotho came into the tournament as the best losers.
