2001 COSAFA Cup

The fifth edition of COSAFA Cups, officially COSAFA Castle Cup 2001 was held from 30 September 2001 on 10 June. Eight teams from the South African space played for the title of South Africa champion. Angola won his second title. The preliminary round was held until April 29, dated 11 February.

Game Mode

For the final round of the tournament, the top three winners of the last tournament qualified automatically. The remaining eight participants played in the first round, the four winners, as well as the best losers, which qualified for the finals. The tournament was continued in all-in - system.

1 round / qualification

The first round took place until 29 April 2001 of February 11. Swaziland, Malawi, Mauritius and South Africa failed to qualify for the finals. Zambia came into the tournament as the best losers.
