2009 Royal Bank of Scotland Challenger

The Royal Bank of Scotland Challenger Tiburon 2009 was a tennis tournament to 18 October 2009 was held from 12th in Tiburon. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour in 2009 and was held outdoors on hard court. The tournament returned this season after five -year break in the ATP Challenger Tour back.

Winners in the individual was the unseeded Japanese Gō Soeda, who defeated unseeded Serb Ilija Bozoljac the also in three sets in the final. It was Soedas sixth success in a single tournament on the ATP Challenger Tour. The winner of the final staging was 2004 KJ Hippensteel, who did not participate in this year's tournament.

In the double set at third position Treat Conrad Huey and Harsh Mankad in the final against a rank higher Ilija Bozoljac and Dusan Vemic set were victorious. The title defense in 2004, André Sá and Bruno Soares both did not occur to defend their title.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. There were both in the individual event with 16 players and for the doubles competition with four doubles, a qualifying round, through which the individual four players in double could qualify a pairing for the main draw. Prior to the tournament, there were three cancellations. In individual Artem Sitak enlisted as a lucky loser Ryan Sweeting for the main draw. In doubles Fernando Vicente had because of problems with the cervical spine and Greg Oullette with an ankle injury their participation retreat. In their place were playing Thomas Fabbiano / Matteo Marrai and Mason Fuller / Artem Sitak who had failed to qualify.
