2009 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships

The short track speed skating World Championships 2009 took place from 6 to 8 March 2009 in the Austrian capital Vienna. It was the second time since the 1998 World Championships, the Championships were held in Vienna.

A total of twelve competitions were held. There was, respectively, for women and men, a multi-discipline and individual race over 500 m, 1000 m and 1500 m. The eight in the all-around score best placed runners after these three lines also occurred at about 3000 m. In addition, there were relay events, with women more than 3000 m and in the men's 5,000 m. In the all-around as the results obtained using the four individual sections. The winner in a single race got 34 points, the second 21, the third 13, the fourth of eight, five of the Fifth, Sixth of the three, the two seventh and the eighth one. However, only points were awarded when the runners reached the final. After a disqualification no points were awarded. The addition of points scored a runner gave the final standings in the all around.
