2010 Ethias Trophy
The Ethias Trophy 2010 was the sixth edition of the tennis tournament in Mons. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour 2010, as well as the Tretorn Series , a tournament series consisting of the most highly endowed Challenger Tournaments of the season. It was played from 4th to 10th October 2010 in the indoor hard courts.
The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. In the individual competition, there was a qualifying round with 16 players, by the four players could qualify for the main draw itself. The prize money of the event totaled € 106,500.
Winner of the individual competition was the unseeded Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, who defeated unseeded Belgian Steve Darcis the also in straight sets in the final. It was Mannarinos third individual title at Challenger level of his career and the second of the season.
The doubles competition won the set at position one Slovakians Filip Polášek and Igor Zelenay that the Belgian wildcard owner Ruben Bemelmans and Yannick Martens defeated in the final match in the tiebreaker. It was already Polášek ninth career title with a doubles competition of the Challenger category and the second this season. She gained also for the second time the title in Mons, he obtained in 2007 on the side of Tomasz Bednarek for the first time. For Zelenay it was the eleventh Challengertitel in a double of his career and the only one of the season.
Prior to the tournament had the Belgian Xavier Malisse, who was seated at one position, to withdraw his participation. For him, the Frenchman Marc Gicquel enlisted as a lucky loser into the main draw and made it to the semifinals, where he failed to Steve Darcis.
