2012 IIHF Women's World Championship

The 14th Ice Hockey World Championships Women's International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships were the 2012. A total of between 25 March and the April 15, 2012 32 teams in the five tournaments in the top division and the divisions I to part II.

Last year's participants Bulgaria, Ireland and Ireland Turkey Turkey withdrew their teams entered for the qualification to the group B of Division II back later. The teams for the first time reported for the qualifiers Group B of Division II team Mexico Mexico was not permitted to participate or withdrew also. Thus, the remaining participants Spain and South Africa South Africa moved up in the Group B.

Top Division

The Women's World Championship was held in the U.S. city of Burlington, Vermont from 7 to 14 April 2012. It was played at Gutterson Fieldhouse ( 4,035 places) of the University of Vermont and in the Cairns Arena in South Burlington with 600 seats.

The World Cup, from the results, it was the last IIHF World Ranking at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia before the qualifiers, was the final chance to qualify as one of the six best teams after the World Cup directly on the world ranking placement for the Winter Games.
