The 7th arrondissement of Paris, the arrondissement du Palais Bourbon, was created during the expansion of the city in the early 19th century.

It is a popular destination for tourists with the Paris landmark, the Eiffel Tower, and other popular attractions. It is also with a variety of ministries and the National Assembly, after the 8th arrondissement, the second political center of the city.

Geographical location

The 7th arrondissement is situated on the Rive Gauche, the Left Bank. It is bordered to the east by the 6th arrondissement and is surrounded to the south and east by the 15th arrondissement. Lie on the opposite bank of the Seine ( from west to east ) the 16th, 8th and 1st arrondissement.

Demographics

According to the census of 1999 56.988 inhabitants in the 408.8 -acre district are reported. This corresponds to a population density of 13,933 inhabitants / km ² and 2.7 % of the total population of Paris.

Railway stations and metro lines

The Métro stations Invalides, Duroc Sèvres Babylone and are three major hubs in the district. About they ride the metro lines 8, 10, 12 and 13

The RER line C also holds at the stations Invalides and the Musée d' Orsay and continues along the Seine (eg west to the station Champ de Mars - Tour Eiffel in the 16th arrondissement ).
