Adam Federici

Adam Jay Federici (born 31 January 1985 in Nowra ) is an Australian football goalkeeper Italian descent. He's been playing the 2004 Reading FC in England and is regarded as one of the candidates for the succession of Mark Schwarzer in goal for the Australian national team.

Club career

Before he moved to FC Reading, Federici sample training completed at the Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United. He signed at Reading in September 2005. For the second half of the 2005/06 season he was loaned to Carshalton Athletic. From August 26 to October 27, 2006, he was also loaned out to Bristol City without having aground once.

In the 2008 /09 season Federici spent two months of the first round at third division Southend United, after his return he moved in December for the injured regular keeper Marcus Hahnemann in the starting eleven and completed by March 2009 15 league games. This end of December 2008 he succeeded in the game against Cardiff City in the sixth minute of injury time after a corner of the 1-1 draw.

National

Federici came to Australia at the 2005 Junior World Championships in the Netherlands two appearances. He was nominated in July 2008 for the Olympic football tournament in China and played the tournament as a goalkeeper.

His first and only international match in the senior national team of Australia was a friendly against Uruguay, which took place on 2 June 2007. Federici was nominated for the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa as a substitute goalkeeper, but did not it used.
