Administrative divisions of Altai Krai

The Altai region in southern Siberia (Russia) is divided into 60 Rajons and 12 of the administrative region directly under its cities and settlements.

The reform of local self-government, which is carried out in Russia since 2003 until 2009 in the Altai region not yet completed. Thus, for example, no city circles region under central authority were not yet formed, as in many other regions, but so far at the usual since the Soviet period form the ( rajonfreien ) held. The number of 60 Rajons represents the maximum value for a subject of Russian Federation
