History

The settlement 's name was (818 again as Alpihha ) first documented in 808 as Alpicha. In the 12th century the spellings Albichingen and Alchingen appear. Since 1415 the name Albaching is customary for the parish village. A logical derivation of the name has not yet been successful. It could be the name of the river Albach underlie Indo-European albh for white and High German aha for water, but was still in the 19th century Mühlbach and may therefore ceases to be a namesake. Another theory draws the Roman gentile names Albius approach as a name, what would the settlement certify a very early date. Both assumptions are not scientifically valid. Albaching has always belonged to the year 1804 to the Free County Hague, which was in turn acquired by the Wittelsbach family. Albaching was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community.

On April 1, 1971, until then independent municipality Utzenbichl and parts of the territory of the dissolved municipality Rosenberg were incorporated. On 1 May 1978, the municipality Albaching was dissolved in the course of municipal reform and integrated into the community Pfaffing. After years of resistance and numerous negotiations Albaching received on 1 January 1994 back its independence and has since formed an administrative community with the community Pfaffing.

In August 2008 Albaching celebrated 1200 years of existence.
