Frasdorf

Frasdorf is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim, at the foot of the western Chiemgau Alps with the districts gamekeeper, Leitenberg, Frasdorf and Umrathshausen. The resort has its own set-up and exit connects to the A 8 Munich Salzburg.

Geography

Geographical Location

Frasdorf is situated on the Autobahn 8 with its own connection point, a noise barrier protects the settlement from excessive noise. Munich is 78 km, 20 km to Rosenheim, Prien am Chiemsee 8 km, to Traunstein 32 km, 63 km to Salzburg and Kufstein 34 km ( about Sachrang ) or 45 km (up Federal Highway 93). The nearest train station is located about 3.5 km from Frasdorf at Umratshausen.

History

Frasdorf 1135 was documented as Fradelsdorf the first time. Gamekeeper, Frasdorf and Umrathshausen belonged before 1800 to the equipped with the high- jurisdiction rule gamekeeper or to its affiliated rule Hohenaschau. Frasdorf was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community.

Incorporations

Parts of the territory of the dissolved municipalities Wildenwart and Umrathshausen were reclassified in the course of municipal reform on 1 May 1978 after Frasdorf.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms is as follows officially emblazoned: shared; top three split of blue and silver, below a silver dragon on a red field.

The threefold division of blue and silver points to the noble family of Gundrichinger who were resident in the district Ginnerting, back. The demonstrated already in the 12th century parish church is dedicated to Saint Frasdorfer Margaretha. Their attribute, the dragon, it symbolizes the coat of arms.

Culture and sights

Worth seeing are the four Frasdorfer churches: St. blood in Umrathshausen, the Christ the King Church Wildenwart and St. Margaret in the center as well as the Gothic pilgrimage church of St. Florian with its baroque fountain chapel. Scenic important is the karst area " Laubstein " with its caves. In Frasdorf a home and Cultural Association, a cave museum and a village museum are located. The gamekeeper castle is located above the valley of Prien.
