History

Is mentioned in a document for the first time Pfaffing 1166. Attel monastery and convent Rott had extensive here until the secularization in 1803 possessions. Pfaffing was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1803 by an independent political community.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1882, until then independent municipality Springlbach was incorporated. On January 1, 1970 Farrach and Rettenbachferner were added.

On 1 May 1978, the neighboring community Albaching was dissolved and incorporated into the parish Pfaffing. After years of resistance and numerous negotiations Albaching received on 1 January 1994 back its independence and has since formed an administrative community with the community Pfaffing.

Coat of arms

The municipal coat of arms is divided Pfaffings; front in silver three perpendicular, solid blue diamonds, divided back of black and silver with a lion in confused colors.

The three blue diamonds come from the coat of arms of the monastery Attel, the Lion of the monastery of Rott. Thus, the municipal coat of arms is linked to the history of the place.

Economy

Established businesses

In the district Forsting is the private brewery Good Forsting eG, which was founded in 1871 and in 1916 converted into a cooperative brewery. In the district of fiefs the dairy company is Alpenhain cheeses plant.

Traffic

Through the district Forsting leads the federal highway 304 in this district also a stop on the railway line Grafing -Wasserburg is located.
