Geography

Babensham located 5 km northeast of Wasserburg am Inn, 20 km south of Kraiburg am Inn, 26 km west of consolation mountain, 43 km north-west of Traunstein, 22 km north of Endorf, 32 km north-east of Rosenheim, 25 km east of Ebersberg and 56 km from the state capital of Munich.

History

The place Babensham was mentioned as Papinesheimon first documented around 924. The place was a long time for District Court District Kling. The Now one of Babensham Penzing was the seat of a closed Hofmark of the Counts of Arco. Babensham was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community.

Incorporations

At the local government reform which until then independent municipality Penzing was incorporated on 1 July 1970. On January 1, 1971, added Schambach. Kling ( with the incorporated on 1 April 1971 Titlmoos ) followed on 1 January 1980.

Traffic

Babensham is connected via State Road 2092 to the regional transportation network and was relieved by the construction of a bypass road in 2011.
