Arrondissement of Hasselt

The Arrondissement Hasselt is one of three administrative arrondissements in the Belgian province of Limburg. It covers an area of 905.15 km ² with a population of 414 401 (as of January 1, 2012) in 18 municipalities.

It is also the administrative and judicial district. For judicial district Hasselt also includes the communities Hamont- Achel, Hechtel- Eksel, Houthalen- Helchteren, Lommel, Neerpelt, Overpelt and peer of the arrondissement of Maaseik. In contrast, includes the communities ace, Genk, Opglabbeek and Zutendaal the county Hasselt for the judicial district of the arrondissement of Tongeren.
