Hechtel- Eksel is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region with 11,940 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It consists of the two districts and Eksel Hechtel who have banded together in 1977 to the church today.

Hasselt is located 22 kilometers (km ) south, the Dutch city of Eindhoven 33 km north, 36 km south-east of Maastricht and Brussels, about 80 kilometers south-west.

The next highway exits are located at Houthalen- Helchteren on the A2 / E 314 and Ham at the A13 / E 313

In Leopold castle, Overpelt, Lommel and Hasselt are the next regional stations.
