Atlantia (company)

The Atlantia SpA (formerly Autostrade SpA) since 1950 on a toll processing specialized service companies in Italy.

Are currently manages 3,100 kilometers of motorway in Italy with 262 toll stations. This represents about 56 percent of the Italian toll motorway network. This deal daily with approximately 1.7 million transactions fees. 45 billion kilometers are traveled on toll routes each year by approximately 750 million vehicles.

The Atlantia SpA has its headquarters in Rome and was established in 1950 under the name " Società Autostrade SpA Costruzioni e concessioni ". Since 1999, the Group is listed at 100% on the Milan Stock Exchange. The control of the Company exerts a core shareholder base, which is led by the Benetton family. A subsidiary was working in Austria Europpass Truck Toll System GmbH, which however still 100 % owned by the ASFINAG.

On 5 May 2007, the board decided to rename the company in Atlantia SpA.

On March 8, 2013 Atlantia announced the acquisition of the holding company Gemina means of taking place until May 2013 stock swap valued at 2 billion euros. Gemina has, among other things, the company Aeroporti di Roma SpA, which operates the Rome airports Fiumicino and Ciampino, and is active in Latin America. Atlantia operates among others, some 1,800 kilometers of toll highways in Brazil and Chile and hopes that the acquisition further concessions in Latin America.
