Atwima Mponua District

The Atwima Mponua District is one of 138 districts in Ghana. It is located in the center of the country in the Ashanti region and there one of 21 regional districts. Atwima Mponua was founded in 2004 as one of 19 new districts after the former district Atwima was shared with a size of 2411 km ² and a population of 234 759 in the districts Atwima Mponua and Atwima Nwabiagya.

The Atwima Mponua District borders the districts Amansie West, Atwima Nwabiagya, Ahafo Ano South and Ahafo Ano North. He also shares land borders with the Western Region and has a direct border with the district Bibiani / Anhwiwiaso / Bekwai. The district border in the west to the Brong- Ahafo Region and has a direct limit on the districts Asutifi and Asunafo South. Chief Executive is Wilberforce O. Ansah with the seat in the district capital Nyinahin.

Constituencies

The district Atwima Mponua forms a constituency of the same name. Asiamah Isaac won here in the 2004 parliamentary elections for the New Patriotic Party seat in the Ghanaian parliament.
