The Bad World Tour was a concert tour by Michael Jackson that started on September 12, 1987 in Tokyo and ended on January 27, 1989 in Los Angeles. It was Jackson's first solo tour.

The Bad tour included 123 concerts on four continents with approximately 4.4 million visitors. It was thus the most successful tour ever, to Jackson 's own record with the HIStory tour broke. In the summer of 1988, seven concerts at Wembley Stadium in London were sold out, a total of 504,000 people visited these seven concerts. This holds Jackson today a world record. The tour brought him a supposedly more than 125 million U.S. dollars. Official Sponsor was, as in the previous Victory Tour, Pepsi -Cola.

Despite the elaborate choreographies Michael Jackson's song, unlike his subsequent tours, recorded mostly live. Only with Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror, Bath and The Way You Make Me Feel came in the second leg partially Playback used. Because Jackson's vocal cords were swollen, had to be canceled in the second leg four concerts.

Setlist

In the first leg, the set list included not only songs from Michael Jackson's solo albums, but also from the albums Destiny and Triumph of the Jacksons. The last two songs were the only ones out of the bathroom while the second leg included seven songs from this album. In the song I Just Can not Stop Loving You, the Michael Jackson in the album version sings together with Siedah Garrett, Sheryl Crow was his duet partner. In addition, in Brisbane there was on November 20, 1987 a guest appearance by Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Bad sang.

When Jackson was on June 19, 1988 in West Berlin at the Reichstag a concert, gathered behind the Berlin Wall, young people who wanted to hear the concert. As this has been tried to prevent it were riots between young people and the People's Police.
