Off the Wall is the third single from Michael Jackson's Off the Wall album of the same name, which was published in 1979.
History
Composed by Rod Temperton song was released on February 2, 1980 as a single. Producer was Quincy Jones. Paulinho da Costa was the percussionist. In the song it comes to dealing with everyday stress: " ... leave did nine-to -five upon the shelf / and just enjoy yourself ."
Michael Jackson sang the song as part of the setlist of The Jacksons music tours Destiny Tour ( second section), Triumph Tour and Victory tour and on his first solo tour Bad World Tour and later as part of a medley on his HIStory World Tour.
Mariah Carey sampelte " Off the Wall " in their song "I'm That Chick ", which = MC ² is included from 2008 in her album E.
