Bernd Brückler
Bernd Brückler ( born September 26, 1981 in Graz) is an Austrian professional ice hockey goaltender, who was recently at HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.
Career
Bernd Brückler began his career with the EC Graz before joining in the summer of 2000 in the North American League United States Hockey League with the Tri -City Storm. NHL Entry Draft 2001, he was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fifth round at 150th place and played in sequence for four years for the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
After the change in the professional sector Brückler played a mixed 2005/06 season in the American Hockey League for the Hartford Wolf Pack and in the ECHL for the Charlotte Checkers and Toledo Storm before he finally moved back to Europe. He was hired by the Espoo Blues in the Finnish SM- liiga and came up with these in his first full season 2006/ 07 in the playoffs. In the summer of 2007, he won with the Espoo Tampere Cup in the 2007/ 08 season he was with the Blues Finnish runner. In addition, he was this season the keeper with the lowest Gegentorschnitt of 1.97, had seven most shutouts, held, with 66 percent of the best percentage of games won for himself and gave six most assists among goalkeepers.
From the 2009/10 season, the Austrian goalkeeper guarded the gate of Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Kontinental Hockey League. On 23 December 2009, the goalkeeper moved to one side and a double band tear of the meniscus tear and fell for the rest of the season. In the season 2010/11 he returned and was elected for a good start to the season for the KHL goalie of the month of September.
In April 2011 he transferred within the KHL Sibir Novosibirsk to HK before his current contract was terminated in August 2012 ahead of schedule.
