Bockhorn, Bavaria

Bockhorn ( bavarian Bocking ) is a municipality in the center of the Upper Bavarian district of Erding.

Geography

Fenugreek is in the Munich region on the eastern edge of the Erdinger Moos 7 km east of the county town of Erding, 15 km north- west of the Villages, 24 km south of Moosburg an der Isar and about 20 km east from Munich Airport.

The Strogen ( small river ) divides the municipality geologically: The western part is flat ( edge of the Munich gravel plain ), the eastern area consists of tertiary hill country ( Erdinger wood country).

There are the following districts: Bockhorn, Eschlbach, Green Brook, Kirchasch, Mauggen, Salmannskirchen.

History

Around 500 BC the municipal area was inhabited by the Celts because of fertile soil and abundance of water; are found in Papferding nor the flattened remains of a Viereckschanze.

By 15 BC Rome extended its dominions to the Danube, to the province of Raetia and the Celts lost their independence.

In the 6th century continued after the end of the great migration again a settler activity; on early settlements of the Bavarians have places with the suffix "- ing" out ( Emling, Flanning, Englpolding, Oppolding, Papferding, Polzing ).

776 comes with Strogen Church in the possession of Freising.

816 first appears the name of Green Brook, when the monk Liutto gave his lands in " Croninpach " the Bishopric of Freising.

926 is the name of fenugreek in the spelling of " Paccharun " detectable; the name means "people of the brook ."

1053 Mauggen was first mentioned as " Muchun " in a transfer certificate of a commodity at Freising.

1156 appears the name " Eschlbach " in the tradition of the Bishopric of Freising.

1200 started in Gruenbach with the construction of the castle Gruenbach.

1315 is listed with the branches Kirchasch, hedges, Salmannskirchen, Green Brook and Tankham as parish Bockhorn ( now " Pachorn " spelling).

1801 started in Gruenbach with the construction of the still existing castle Gruenbach.

1920 and 1942 there is major flooding through the Strogen.

In 1972 ( Golf Club Erding Green Bach) was in the district Gruenbach with the construction of the golf course started (1978 expanded ), and green brook Castle, the Federal Institute for Plant Genetics was established ( to 1999).

In 2002 the new town hall of Bockhorn is opened.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, the municipalities Bockhorn, Eschlbach, Green Brook and Salmannskirchen, be merged into the new municipality of Bockhorn. Nor were added ( among other Polzing ) in the southeast of the dissolved municipality Matzbach some places on 1 May 1978.

The Coat of Arms was established in 1973: "In red over a silver horn with gold fittings a silver wave beams. "

The wave bar symbolizes the small river strogn in Bockhorn, the silver horn comes from the town of Green Brook, as an indication of the noble family of the power of Green Brook.

The flag has the colors white and red.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of Agriculture and Forestry six, 163 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 25 persons work at the workplace.
