Borgo Val di Taro

Borgo Val di Taro is a town ( comune ) with 7218 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Parma, in Emilia -Romagna. The community is located about 57 kilometers southwest of Parma and directly borders the province of Massa- Carrara. In the town of Taro stems.

History

Even in ancient times won the area of settlement importance as the Ligurians.

Economy

In the village there is one of the important centers of cattle. Furthermore, porcini mushrooms are grown (especially Boletus edulis, Boletus pinophilus, Boletus aestivalis and Boletus aereus ) here under the protected designation of origin Fungo di Borgotaro.

Traffic

East of the township the Autostrada A15 leads from Parma to La Spezia. Directly by the municipality to Liguria extends the earlier Strada Statale 523 del Colle di Cento Croci, which was downgraded to provincial road. Borgo Val di Taro has a station on the railway line from Parma to La Spezia.
