Boxing at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's light heavyweight
The light heavyweight boxing competition of the men ( to 81 kg) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from July 30 to August 12, 2012 at the Exhibition Centre London. 26 boxers participated.
The competition was held in the knockout system. It started with the first round, which included 32 starting places. Since only 26 qualified boxers, six athletes were randomly assigned byes. The winners came into the second round, quarterfinals and semifinals. The winners of the semi-finals competing for the gold medal, both losers received the bronze medal.

The result of the struggle between the Indians and the Brazilians Sangwan Florentino, brother of the silver medalist at middleweight Esquiva F. Florentino, led to controversy. The Indian team felt disadvantaged, Sports Minister Ajay Maken of put a official protest, which was unsuccessful, however.
