Božo Bakota

Bozo Bakota ( born October 1, 1950 in Zagreb, Yugoslavia - now Croatia ) is a former Yugoslav football player.

Bozo Bakota began his career at NK Zagreb with which he relegation from the first League of Yugoslavia suffered in 1974, but in 1976 the re-emergence managed. A total of three more seasons he played in midfield for Zagreb in the first league, in his best season 1978 get him 10 goals. In the same year Bozo Bakota came on November 15, his only match for Yugoslavia in a 4-1 victory over Greece. A year after the descent of NK Zagreb he followed his former coach Otto Barić to Austria for SK Sturm Graz.

In a storm Bozo Bakota was already in his first season in 1980/81 Austrian Vice Champion and won the 1981/82 season with 24 hits the Austrian top scorer. He added excellently with Gernot Jurtin by storm and was especially known as a safe penalty taker. Biggest international success was reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup in 1983/84. Storm defeated Nottingham Forest 0-1 at home, this could result thanks to a Bakota gate in the second leg leveled and retired after the 1-1 draw of the extension. Until 1986 Bozo Bakota wore the Storm Dress and scored a total of 86 Bundesliga goals for the club.
