Anton " Toni" Polster ( born March 10, 1964 in Vienna ) is a retired Austrian football player and coach.

Anton Polster was a three time with Austria Wien Austrian champion (1984-1986) and in the 1980s and 1990s, one of the most successful and popular Austrian football player.

Career as a player

Cushion began his career in 1973 in the youth team of Austria Wien, changed in 1982 briefly 1 Simmering SC, but returned in the same year returned to Austria, where he played very successfully until 1987.

In 1987, he was about 39 goals scored to win the Golden Boot UEFA, the then but got 44 in part manipulated outside the Romanian Rodion Cămătaru. 2007 upholstery was awarded subsequently also the Golden Boot for that year.

From 1993 to 1998 cushion played in the German Bundesliga at the 1 FC Cologne, where he in 1994/95 together with Bruno Labbadia formed the most successful strike duo the league and the 1996/97 second scorer was. After the descent of Cologne in 1998 he played in the first and in the second league for Borussia Mönchengladbach, before he moved on loan in January 2000, Austria Salzburg, where he ended his career.

Between 1982 and 2000, graduated cushion 95 caps for the Austrian national team, in which he scored 44 goals. He is in Austria's national statistics in second place behind Andreas Herzog ( 103 inserts ) and before Gerhard Hanappi who brought it to 93 missions. He is also the most successful Austrian National team scorer. The key play in the national team was the qualifier on 15 November 1989 against the GDR, as a cushion was booed by the home crowd. Career as a manager, consultant, trainer

In January 1997 cushion took over the presidency at the Cologne district division side SV Weiden, for which he was employed in October 2000 again. From 2001 to 2004 Anton Polster worked in marketing for Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the winter of 2004 upholstery returned as team manager back to his original club Austria Wien back and could make you listen internationally by reaching the UEFA Cup quarter- finals. Since autumn 2011 cushion coached SC Wiener Viktoria. In the first year the Wiener Viktoria managed to climb from the 5th league (Oberliga A) in the Vienna City League and the second year they threw the Serie A club Kapfenberg from the OFB Cup.

For the 2013/14 season cushion came over from Didi Kühbauer as coach of the Austrian Bundesliga Admira Wacker and was discharged after three defeats and a goal difference of 2:11 goals in the first three league games already on 9 August 2013.

On 13 January 2014 it was announced that Toni Polster was again obliged as coach of SC Wiener Viktoria. He solved thus from Andreas Reisinger as a coach.

In 2005 he achieved in the first edition of the ORF - show series Dancing with the Stars with his dance partner Michaela Heintzinger the final. Cushion moderated in Premiere Austria as a football expert and was during the 2008 European Championship co-commentator at the SRG. He has his own column in the newspaper Austria. In the German private television, he was seen as a candidate in Boarding or Capsizing (RTL) and Extreme Activity ( ProSieben). In June 2008, he won the Perfect Celebrity Dinner on VOX and donated the profits to a children's charity.
