Bruchstedt

Bruchstedt is a municipality in Unstrut Hainich in Thuringia. It belongs to the administrative community with Bad Tennstedt seat is in the town of Bad Tennstedt.

Geography

Bruchstedt located in the Thuringian basin, on the southeastern edge of the vent Heimer trench which the Schambach Headwaters distance Bach follows here.

History

At the beginning of the 9th century Bruchstedt was built in a directory of the Patrimony of the Archbishop Lull († 786) of Mainz Hersfeld monastery was first mentioned as Brutstede in connection with Tennstedt ( Dennistede ) documented.

Bruchstedt 1663 was affected by witch hunts. Anna Maria Lorenzen, " the old Thomasin " called, caught in a witch trial, and was punished with banishment.

1816 came Bruchstedt to the circle Langensalza the Prussian province of Saxony.

In the night from 23 to 24 May 1950, a storm triggered flash floods devastated the distant brook the place. Water heights up to 3.50 meters height have been achieved; an opinion assumes that the flood peak had an outflow of 400 m³ / s. Eight citizens and most of the livestock (including 82 cows, 400 pigs and 317 sheep) were victims of the disaster. Seven residents were injured, some seriously. 40 buildings were completely destroyed and more than 150 buildings partially damaged. In a state-organized relief effort, the town was built by 3000 workers in 50 days. The new farmsteads were on a hillside, to a kindergarten, a school and a community center were built. On the vacant town center, a park was created. At the disaster night a memorial stone with the names of the eight victims of the disaster. Even today, every year the reconstruction festival in memory of the unique solidarity action instead.

  • Free Wählergemeinschaft: 1 seat ( 27.1%)
  • Group of voters Motorsport Club Bruchstedt: 1 seat ( 20.7 %)

The honorary mayor Walter Monday ( FWG BI for Bruchstedt ) was elected on August 15, 2010.
