Brugherio

Brugherio is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 33,478 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. Town charter, the municipality has by presidential decree in January 1967. The municipality borders the province of Milan, to make it to the disentanglement of the Province of Monza and Brianza ( 2004) from the same part. Monza is located about three kilometers north- north-westerly direction, Milan about six kilometers to the southwest.

The community name derives from the Italian name of heather ago. West of the village flows the Lambro, a tributary of the Po.

In the 4th century a monastery was built, so that the settlement dates back into antiquity.

Traffic

Brugherio is located on the northeastern outskirts of Milan. It is located in a triangle of highways:

  • In the north of the municipality of the A4 Motorway, a toll motorway from Milan to Bergamo runs
  • In the east the Autostrada A51, a partial toll road ( Osttangentiale of Milan ) runs from Bologna to Usmate Velate
  • In the West, the Autostrada A52 is a motorway ( from Milan Nordtangentiale ) of Sesto San Giovanni goes according Paderno Dugnano (toll in Sesto San Giovanni)
