BudynÄ› nad OhÅ™Ã
Nad Ohri Budyně ( German Budin at the Eger) is a city in the Czech Republic. It is located 10 km west from Roudnice in 161 m asl on the right bank of the Eger and belongs to the Okres Litoměřice.
History
Based on archaeological excavations can be demonstrated that the Egerufer was inhabited at Budyně around 3000 BC. According to the chronicles of the present town was already in the 9th century and received its town charter in 1173.
The road connecting Raudnitz and Libochowitz led here about the Eger and the protection of the way the castle was Budyně.
Budyně remained in the course of its long history a tranquil country town and lost in 1954, the municipal law. Since 1996 Budyně is a city again.
The town lies on the railway branch line Libochovice - Mšené - Lázně and is surrounded by lowland forest on the Eger, who was declared a nature reserve.
