The Byron Township is one of 24 townships in Ogle County in the north of the U.S. state of Illinois.
Geography
The Byron Township is located in northern Illinois on Rock River about 10 km downstream of the city of Rockford. The border with Wisconsin is located about 40 km north; the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, is located about 80 km west.
The Byron Township is located at 42 ° 10 ' N, 89 ° 16' W42.169444444444 - 89.274722222222 and extends over 96.3 km ², spread over 94.7 km ² land and 1.6 km ² water surface.
The Byron Township is located in the north of Ogle County and is bordered to the north and northwest by the Winnebago County. Within the Ogle County the Byron Township is bordered on the southwest by the Rock River separated at the Marion Township, on the south by the Rockvale Township and on the west by the Leaf River Township.
Traffic

The part of the city which lies on the opposite bank of the Rock River, is part of the Marion Township.
