The Maryland Township is one of 24 townships in Ogle County in the north of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Maryland Township is located in northern Illinois about 180 km west of Chicago. The border with Wisconsin is located about 35 km north; the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, is located around 55 km to the west.

The Maryland Township is located at 42 ° 09'11 " north latitude and 89 ° 30'27 " west longitude and extending over 93.75 km ².

The Maryland Township is located in the northeast of Ogle County and is bordered to the north by the Stephenson County. Within the Ogle County borders the Maryland Township on the east by the Leaf River Township, to the southeast by the Mount Morris Township, to the southwest by the Lincoln Township and on the west by the Forreston Township.

Traffic

In East-West direction, the Illinois State Route 72 runs through the south of the Maryland Township. All other roads are County highways and further subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.

In the census of 2010, the Township had 535 inhabitants. In addition to scattered settlements exist within the Maryland Township, the settlement Adeline ( with a status of "Village" ).
