The Eagle Point Township is one of 24 townships in Ogle County in the north of the U.S. state of Illinois.
Geography
The Eagle Point Township is located in northern Illinois about 60 km south of the Wisconsin border. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, is located around 40 km to the west.
The Eagle Point Township is located at 41 ° 58'38 " north latitude and 89 ° 39'27 " west longitude and extending over 50.68 km ².
The Eagle Point Township is located in the extreme southwest of Ogle County and is bordered to the south by the Whiteside and to the west by the Carroll County. Within the Ogle County, the Eagle Point Township is bordered to the north by the Brookville Township, in the northeast of the Lincoln Township, on the east by the Buffalo Township and to the southeast by the Woosung Township.
Traffic
Through the Township proceed no national highways. All roads are County highways and further subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.
In the east-west direction through the Eagle Point Township railway line of the BNSF Railway, which runs from Chicago to the west.
The nearest airport is around 25 km north- west of the township located Ogle County Airport.
Population
In the census of 2010, the Township had 227 inhabitants. In addition to scattered settlements exist in the Eagle Point Township two ( unincorporated ) settlements:
