The Marion Township is one of 24 townships in Ogle County in the north of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Marion Township is located in northern Illinois on the left bank of the Rock River. The Township joins in a southwesterly direction to the suburban area of Rockford, the third largest city in the state. Chicago is located approximately 150 km to the east, the Wisconsin border, about 45 km to the north and the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, about 80 km to the west.

The Marion Township is located at 42 ° 05'24 " north latitude and 89 ° 13'04 " west longitude and extending over 117.3 km ², spread over 116.0 km ² land and 1.3 km ² water surface.

The Marion Township is located in the north of Ogle County and is bordered to the northeast by the Winnebago County.
