The Forreston Township is one of 24 townships in Ogle County in the north of the U.S. state of Illinois.
Geography
The Forreston Township is located in northern Illinois about 180 km west of Chicago. The border with Wisconsin is located about 40 km north; the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, is located about 45 km west.
The Forreston Township is located at 42 ° 09'08 " north latitude and 89 ° 37'18 " west longitude and extending over 94 km ².
The Forreston Township is located in the extreme northwest of the Ogle County and is bordered to the west by the Carroll and to the north by the Stephenson County. Within the Ogle County borders the Forreston Township on the east by the Maryland Township, to the southeast by the Lincoln Township and on the southwest by the Brookville Township.
Traffic
In the Forreston Township, the Illinois State Routes 26 and 72 meet each other. All other roads are County highways and further subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.
In the east-west direction through the Forreston Township railway line of the Canadian Pacific Railway, which runs from Chicago to the west.
The nearest airport is about 5 km north of the township located Albertus Airport south of Freeport in neighboring Stephenson County.
