Cahan, Orne

Cahan is a commune of 159 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Orne in Basse-Normandie region.

Geography

Cahan is located 15 kilometers north-east of Flers and is crossed by Noireau. The river flows through a small valley, surrounded by wooded slopes. Cahan is right on the border of the département of Calvados and near the tourist centers Pont- d'Ouilly and Clécy. The village lies on the edge of the Norman Switzerland.

The Noireau is attractive for anglers and whitewater riders who can go down it until two kilometers away Pont- d'Ouilly. Two major trails lead through the municipal area, and there are numerous smaller roads.
