Campogalliano

Campo Galliano is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8634 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Modena in the Emilia- Romagna. The community is located about nine kilometers northwest of Modena and about 16 kilometers east of Reggio Emilia. The church belonged to the Uninone della Terre d' Argine and directly borders the province of Reggio Emilia.

History

The early settlement by the Celts or Gauls (Latin for the land north of the Rubicon: Cisalpine Gaul ) gave the present site and the community its name as the Gauls field.

In the 16th century it first won in importance when the castle was built.

Economy and Transport

Campo Galliano is located in the triangle between the Autostrada A1 ( Milan -Bologna - Rome - Naples) and the Autostrada A22 (Modena -Verona- Bolzano, Brenner motorway ). The company Bugatti Automobili had a manufacturing base here.
