Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Launch Complex 2
Cape Canaveral AFS Launch Complex 2 (LC -2) is a disused start ramp of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Merritt Iceland, Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. It was used 1954-1960 for 15 starts for the development and test of the Snark cruise missile.
History
Originally, the launch pad was built together with LC-1, LC -3 and LC - 4 for the Snark cruise missile program. The first launch took place on 18 February 1954. The launch complex was used until April 6, 1960 for cruise missiles.
Later it was used as a heliport during the Mercury program. Finally, the starting place in the 1980s was used for radar balloons.
