The city is located in the center of the Aroostook County near the Aroostook River. Through the City's Maine State Route 227 leads from Ashland to Presque Isle. A railway connecting the city had never been. The nearest airport with scheduled flights is located in Presque Isle.

History

Initially known as Castle Hill Plantation, the settlement on February 25, 1903, appointed to the city.
