Caswell is a city ( town) in the U.S. state of Maine in Aroostook County.
Geography and transport
The city is located in eastern Aroostook County near the Canadian border. Through the city leads the U.S. Highway 1, which continues north towards Van Buren and south towards Limestone. Caswell never had a railway connection. The nearest airport with scheduled flights is located in Presque Isle.
History
The settlement was founded in 1878 as Pleasant Ridge Plantation. On April 14, 1879, she was appointed to the city and at the same time in accordance with RS Caswell, the first settler at the place named.
