Christopher Lutz

Christopher Lutz ( born February 24, 1971 in Neukirchen ) is a German chess grandmaster.

Career

Christopher Lutz won in Berlin in 1983, the German C- Junior Championship and 1987 in Altensteig than 16 years of the German U-20 Youth Championship. He was regarded at the time as the greatest talent in the FRG since Robert Hübner. He became International Champion, 1992 Grand Master in 1989. The last needed for this standard he reached at a tournament in December 1991 in Budapest, when he was second behind Alexander Baburin tied.

Lutz was twice German champion in chess, 1995 in Binz and 2001 in old churches. He played in the Bundesliga until 2007 on board one of the SG Porz, with whom he won several German team champion title. After the withdrawal of Porz from the Bundesliga, he joined the Godesberg SK, but returned for the season 2008/2009 back to SG Porz.

2002 was Lutz 's second of the match against Vladimir Kramnik in the chess program Deep Fritz in Bahrain, as well as in 2006 in Bonn at Kramnik's match against Deep Fritz.

His current Elo rating is 2571 (as of November 2011), its highest ever Elo rating was 2655 in July 2002.

Private

Lutz is married to the German chess champion Anke Koglin. The couple has a daughter and lives in Cologne.
