Coopracambra-Nationalpark

The Coopracambra National Park is a national park in the far east of the Australian state of Victoria. It is located in eastern Gippsland on Monaro Highway between Cann River ( Victoria) and Rockton (New South Wales), 380 kilometers east of Melbourne. The 35,000 -hectare area was declared a National Park in 1988. The Genoa Wilderness Area along the Genoa River went to the national park. Directly north of the then South - East Forest National Park is located in New South Wales.

The Genoa River traverses both parks from north to southeast. In Coopracambra National Park it flows through a gorge with red sandstone walls. On the border with New South Wales the Park from Mount Merragunegin, a granite summit is surmounted. Near the Monaro Highway at Chandlers Creek on the western edge of the park are the Beehive Falls, worth seeing waterfalls.

Vegetation

In Coopracambra National Park you will find warm temperate rainforest and eucalypt forest lights.

Facilities

The 2 km long W. B. Line connects the Beehive Falls with the Monaro Highway and is one of the few -to-use in road vehicles slopes in the park. Along the Genoa River takes several trails for hikers and mountain bikers.
