Terrick-Terrick-Nationalpark

The Terrick Terrick - National Park is a national park in the north of the Australian state of Victoria, 225 km north- west of Melbourne, 45 km west of Echuca and 65 km north of Bendigo.

Flora, fauna and culture

In the park north of the small town Mitiamo carries significant remnants of eucalypt forest species of Box Ironbark, and to the north of Victoria typical, flat grassland. The park is near the Kow Swamp ( in the north on the Murray River), where one has made ​​paleontological discoveries that provide insight into the origins of the Aborigines.

The Terrick Terrick National Park, is one of the last refuges for the Tumbleweed, an endangered species.

Facilities

There are several hiking trails and an easy- equipped campsite in the park. Drinking water is not available and therefore must be brought by the visitors themselves.
