Morwell-Nationalpark

The Morwell National Park is a national park with 560 hectares in southern Gippsland in Victoria, Australia. It is located about 140 km east of Melbourne and 16 km south of Morwell in the Strzelecki Mountains.

There you will find remnants of the previously widespread Mediterranean forest. Temperate rainforest is restricted to deep gorges. 320 different plant species have been identified in the park, including five rare and endangered species and 44 species of orchids. The fauna consists of 129 species: 19 species of mammals, 96 species of birds, 11 species of reptiles and three amphibians.

Weeds and introduced animal species pose a threat to the original ecosystem of the small National Parks dar.
