Cornelis van der Lijn
Cornelis van der Lijn (* 1608 in Alkmaar, Netherlands, † July 27, 1679 ibid ) was 1646-1650 Governor General of the Dutch East Indies. His successor was Carel Reyniersz.
Work
Van der Lijn was considered weak leadership. During his tenure as governor general peace treaties with Mataram, Solor and Bantam were closed. In addition, 1646 trade contracts with the prince of Mataram were closed on 24 September.
On van der Lijns request, he was adopted on October 7, 1650 with full honors from office. He died on July 27, 1679 in his hometown of Alkmaar.
