Crévic

Crévic is a commune with 932 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Location

Crévic is located about 20 kilometers east of Nancy in the valley of the river Sânon which opens a few miles west at Dombasle -sur -Meurthe in the Meurthe. Parallel to the river and the Rhine - Marne Canal flows through the village.

History

Crévic originated in the Gallo-Roman era. Over time, the place names of Cressenviscus about Creviacus and Crévy walked in its present form.

The area is demonstrated that for 3,000 years ( Iron Age ) populated, possibly even before that ( Bronze Age ). Witnesses of this early period are the found in Crévic Tumuli.
