Daniel Elena

Daniel Elena ( born October 26, 1972 in Monaco ) is a Monegasque rally co-driver. He is best known as a longtime Navigator of the record world champion Sébastien Loeb.

Career

Elena began his rally career in 1997 as co- pilot of Hervé Bernard. Even during the year, he moved into the cockpit of Loeb. In 1999, she won the Citroën Saxo Trophy, 2001, the Rally World Youth Championship in a Citroën Saxo and the French Rally Championship in a Citroën Xsara. In 2002, she obtained her first WRC victory in the Rally of Germany. From 2004 to 2012 Elena won with Loeb nine times in a row the World Rally Championship. In the years 2007 to 2010, the duo drove a Citroën C4 WRC as well as in the years 2011 and 2012, a Citroën DS3 WRC. Elena reached Loeb 78 victories in the World Rally Championship and is the co-pilot with the most victories in the history of the WRC. The Monte Carlo Rally, the home event of Elena, he won seven times with Loeb.

Although he has the Monegasque nationality, he was elected together with Loeb of France Sportsman of the Year in 2007 and 2009.

Elena is married and has two children. He and his family live near Lausanne in Switzerland. Outside of its motor sport activities, Elena operated as a winemaker and keltert high-priced wines which also Loeb's website are offered.
