Danny Green (basketball)

Daniel Richard " Danny" Green ( born June 22, 1987 in North Babylon, New York ) is an American professional basketball player who plays since 2009 except for a few interruptions in the most highly endowed professional league NBA.


While studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill played Green played four seasons from 2005 to 2009 for the high school team Tar Heels in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC ) of the NCAA. Green reached 123 wins in 145 games, the most wins of all players in the jersey of this prestigious college team, for among other things, the NBA All-Stars Michael Jordan and James Worthy were active during their college days. Within the ACC Green was at the end of his college career, the only player with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists, 150 three-point throws, blocked 150 litters and 150 ball gains.

He was selected in the " Entry Draft " of 2009 by the Cleveland Cavaliers to 46th place. In the 2009/10 season he completed then 20 games for the Cavaliers and two appearances in the NBA Development League (D -League ) for the " farm team " Erie BayHawks. Two weeks before the season started the following season 2010/11, however, he was released from his contract and a month later then obliged by the San Antonio Spurs. After a week and two appearances he has already been released by the Spurs again and completed more missions in the D- League for the Reno Bighorns before it was in March 2011 again committed by the San Antonio Spurs. He graduated in addition to a commitment to the farm team the Spurs, the Austin Toros, six NBA bets. During the NBA lockout at the start of the following season Green was active for the Slovenian team Olimpija KK Union out of the capital Ljubljana in Europe and completed by December 2011 also inserts in the highest European club competition ULEB Euro Cup 2011 /12. After the end of the lockout, the Spurs again gave Green a contract, committing him long-term in the following summer. In the 2013 NBA Finals Green surpassed the 5th game the previous record for points scored three litters (22 ) Ray Allen, when he turned his 23rd threesome.


Danny Green was founded in 2005 to " McDonald's Game," the all-American high school player invited. After the college season 2008/ 09 he was elected team within his playing strong NCAA Conference in the ACC All-Defensive, which corresponds to the five best defensive players of the past college season in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
